LDAP

To import users from your LDAP, you need to set-up a connection first. Below is an example of how this can be done. We're going to show you how to set-up a connection to a free test LDAP server. From your 'import users' page, select 'Import Users Using LDAP'. You will see the first input form, enter the following details and hit the 'Connect' button:

Host URL: ldap.forumsys.com
LDAP Bind DN: cn=read-only-admin,dc=example,dc=com
Admin Password: password

If successfully connected you'll be asked to enter the second input form. Enter the following details and click the 'List/Search Users' button:

LDAP Search DN: dc=example,dc=com
Search Filter: cn=*

You'll see a list of users:

Once finished, you can enable/disable the following option that will either send (or not send) an automated email to all selected end-users:

You can click the 'Import' button once finished:

Please note, once your users are imported, the system will not keep a connection to your LDAP server. For security reasons, your connection will be terminated and your connection parameters will not be stored anywhere. If you wish to import other users at a later stage, you need to perform the above-mentioned operation from the beginning.

Import Users Using CSV

Right-Side Timeline

You can open or close the right side timeline. It's available on all pages, except your 'Home' page (since that page is already receiving your real-time updates). The purpose of having it is to allow you to open it in case you need to be constantly informed of what is coming through your timeline, regardless of which part of the system you are working with. In other words, normally you only see your timeline when you open the 'Home' page. In case you need to always see the updates, you can enable your right-side Timeline by pressing the following button:

You will see the timeline on the right side, which will be receiving all your updates in real-time so that you can be always informed:

Click the same button to hide your right-side timeline:
